Cherry Tree Cottage is set in the heart of the beautiful South Suffolk countryside, within easy reach of many excellent local pubs, restaurants and farm shops. From this cosy Suffolk base there are many historic towns and villages near the holiday cottage including Kersey, one of England’s prettiest villages, with its picturesque ford and a church that can be seen for miles. This is all in a classic setting of many ancient timber-framed houses and cottages. Nearby is Polstead, a Suffolk village that was made famous in 1827 by the Red Barn murder. Polstead today is an attractive village with a tranquil duck pond, a quaint, popular pub and an award-winning community shop. A visit to the village of Stoke by Nayland is also a must particularly if you are a golfer or interested in good food. There are so many historic towns and villages all round Suffolk and beyond that a visitor will be spoilt for choice, however visits to the historic market towns of Hadleigh and Lavenham are a must, with their medieval Guildhalls and historic churches of particular interest. There are a number of wonderful walks in and around the local area and guests will find many maps and walk books available for their use whilst staying in the cottage. Whilst staying at Cherry Tree Cottage you will only be a 30 minute drive away from many of the various attractions that the region has to offer. There is the picturesque village of Dedham with nearby Flatford Mill set in the famed Constable Country. The historic towns of Bury St Edmunds, Colchester and the county town of Ipswich with its shops, cinemas and theatres are close by.
